The main thing that was successful with this second experimentation was the capture of movement. Also certain things i could concentrate more on is:

• Movement
• The placements of clocks
• The sensual aspect of it
• Panic/Torment
• The Grotesque aspect of it

RGB - Red/Blue/Green



These are the primary colours that make up an image.


With all these colours together it makes white, and the colours created by mixed certain colours together, e.g. Blue and red, make purple, and this colour would be known as a secondary colour.


In Photoshop the primary colours can be found in 'Channels'. This is where all 3 colours are broken down and can be worked on individually if needed.


















When finding levels you go to Image - adjustments - levels :

Levels increase the contrast of the overall image and helps you to understand the tones so you can get the best of the colours in the image.


To the right is the pointer for the darker tones if needing to be mind darker of lighter, and the right hand tab is there for the lighter tones.


A good saying to remember is bring the boat into the shore.

                                                                      Curves

The curves tool can take input tones and selectively stretch or compress them. a tonal curve is controlled using any number of anchor points. The result of a given curve can be visualized by following a test input tone up to the curve, then over to its resulting output tone. A diagonal line through the center will therefore leave tones unchanged.

                                  Layer Masks


A layer mask is a layer that is over your image but it is reversible and can be done and undone very easily. Though the use of black, white and grey you can make your layer as opac or solid as you like.

Here i have my layer and background image

Then you click the layer mask button to reveal all of the image, meaning that the mask is off and nothing is hidden

Grab your PAINTBRUSH. Choose BLACK to make soming disapear, Layer masks are not destructive so just change the colour to WHITE and paint over the image and it’ll reappear. The different shades of black.grey/white you use will alter the opacity of the image.

     

     

By pressing X on the keyboard you can quickly switch between black and white in your painters pallet: 

Through using grey with the paintbrush it has made the layer opaic so you can see whats underneath.

Adjusting layers

                                    

When you want to adjust your layer you can go to adjustments and change whatever you need to, whether it be levels, contrast or shadows.

Hr Giger

     
H. R. Giger is recognized as one of the world’s foremost artists of Fantastic Realism. Born in 1940 to a chemist’s family in Chur, Switzerland, he moved in 1962 to Zurich, where he studied architecture and industrial design at the School of Applied Arts. By 1964 he was producing his first artworks, mostly ink drawings and oil paintings, resulting in his first solo exhibition in 1966, followed by the publication and world-wide distribution of his first poster edition in 1969. Shortly after, he discovered the airbrush and, along with it, his own unique freehand painting style, leading to the creation of many of his most well known works, the surrealistic Biomechanical dreamscapes, which formed the cornerstone of his fame. To date, more than 20 books have been published about Giger’s art.

Group feedback

From having group feedback i have been given some pointers in what direction would work:

• Possibly the use of middle aged magazines to use certain women of an age where menopause and a big change in life happens, a mid life crisis?
• The Aftermath of Feminism: Angela McRobbie
• The use of just clock hands
• Melting clocks, the time weighing down on the woman
• The scale of the clocks should be considered
• Temporality

The images that seemed to work the most were: 

This is something to be considered, the audience preferred the images with the clocks on the womb and that could be easily interpreted.

Clocks

After referring to the image by Raoul Hausmann entitled Self-portrait of the Dadasopher, collage- photomontage, 1920, I was began to think about the metaphorical clock given to women to determine there life. Such as the body clock, the right time to have children, and the amount of time you should be attractive. Because of this i began to look through magazines and begin to do a few photo montages to see where my ideas would take me: 

Here i began to just let my ideas flow with the concept of time controlling women:

I then began to take certain images i had seen in Vogue and began to overlap clock faces over certain parts:

Raoul Hausmann

Hausmann's montages were some of the most artistic of the early period of Dada, demonstrating his somewhat wild and free personality in their lack of inhibition. He was never a purist in any sense and often combined media, using paint extensively in some of his best works. But still they remained "montages" as a result of the philosophical approach that he took to the making of art.
A founding member of Berlin Dada, and one of its driving forces. He was inexhaustible in his artistic pursuits and liked to try his hand at everything. He was a photomonteur, painter, fashion designer, poet, pamphleteer, publisher, and partner of Hannah Höch. Everything he did was done with enthusiasm and an often angry gallows humour.

Dada and Tristan Tzara

Dada was an 'Anti-Art' movement that didn't believe in progress or changing the world, unlike the movements before it. All though they didn't believe in a progress of the world or changing peoples view of the world they were in a way using there work to show they were opposed to the first world war and the capitalist culture that had progressed through the years before them. For Breton Dada was not a movement but ''A state of mind''.


One of the minds behind the Dada movement was Tristan Tzara:


                               
Tzara was a Romanian and French avant-garde poet, essayist and performance artist. Also active as a journalist, playwright, literary and art critic, composer and film director, he was known best for being one of the founders and central figures of the anti-establishment movement Dada.
